Pandering to the red & gray crowd? :>)
Just kidding, but this color combo will turn a few heads. Good shot, but I'd have tried to get the entire doorknob in the shot. The overlap of the vertical beam is in an uncomfortable spot. High marks, in general.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

As I mentioned at another response, I love red & grey. And more, anything with this one. 25 points and congrats! I guess some might complain about focus, but I just like this the way it is.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

OK, pursang, I know, I better cut it.

pursang said 558 days ago:

bio, there's a naked girl inside that window...

Ana said 558 days ago:

I like the red door, but those posts in front of it really take from the composition.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

pursang,

who cares if the composition between her and me look like this??? :)

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Or, say, have I irreversibly ruined my reputation with that "guess-it's-gonna-be-funny" kind of comment for that response of yours? :(

King said 558 days ago:

pursang,
I could sense the nakedness!

pursang said 558 days ago:

bio, no the girl from the Santa Cruz window lives here.

pursang said 558 days ago:

King, you're a dog! That's why we get along so well. Vernon's in a league of his own...

King said 558 days ago:

Vernon is the Big Dog!

pursang said 558 days ago:

He gets all the pretty naked girls.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

pursang,

would you like me to stop commenting your photos?

pursang said 558 days ago:

bio, why? I enjoy your comments and our back and forth.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

King,

Vernon the Big Dog? Rather the Big Crow, right?:)

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

pursang,

OK then. I had the feeling I offended you somehow with that comment back then.

I'm glad I was wrong.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Vernon the Big Dog? Rather the Big Crow, right?:)

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Vernon the Big Dog? Rather the Big Crow, right?:)

pursang said 558 days ago:

bio, NO. That's one of my big rubs with electronic communication. Easy to misunderstand. Like I said, I enjoy your comments on my stuff and others as well.

King said 558 days ago:

bio...I don't understand the meaning of Big Crow, but in the U.S., Big Dog is commonly understood. So what is the Big Crow?

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

What else than a mistake of mine? The Big Crow, of course, is psychodudu...

Still don't get it?

King said 558 days ago:

bio...no, still don't get it, but I'm having fun! Give me another hint.

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

pursang,

I read your comments and your reaction to the comments on your photos and I've learned you really appreciate deep, professional feedback - and that's what I can't offer in lack of professional skills and experiance. So I don't even attempt "professional" comments. I was afraid you somehow made a statement about that back then.

But now I'll really cut it :)))

Especially if it turns out that your model with that smoking gun is the one behind this door :D

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Hint#2:

Crow - not crow.

pursang said 558 days ago:

No, not Irina, the girl in the gun photo. Sorry. She is a stunner, isn't she? Took her shooting at the range and although she didn't shoot the SW 357, she was facinated by it. She's back over in Moscow now...sigh.

King said 558 days ago:

bio,
No...still don't get it. I guess you'll just have to tell me.

King said 558 days ago:

pursang,
Motorcycles, guns and naked women...I'm seeing a pattern here. Might one presume that you are just a *bit* competitive?

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

So she's much closer to me than you I guess :))) More, up until like 17 years ago we lived in the same block - isn't that just WOW? :D

BTW, was that gun really fired or just some prop smoke?

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

King,

http://www.kingdouglas.com/weeklyshot/andrew.jpg

Got it? :D

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

King,

he might be "just a *bit* competitive", that might be the reason why he thinks he's gonna nd up like that great self-portrait of his, remember? :D

King said 558 days ago:

bio,
Now I get it!...sorry to be so dense!

Thanks!

pursang said 558 days ago:

King, there's no competition regarding naked women. As all men know, the women control that part. Guns? My son is at Olympic skill level, so I get humbled every time we shoot together. He is actually tutoring the Chief of Police in the town where he lives. At 16, that can make your head pretty big, but he's pretty humble about it. He certainly won't get any tickets in the town where he lives! Motorcycles, well yes, it is ALL bout competition for me in that arena.

bio, you lived in Moscow? Wow, small world. And yes, the smoke is 'staged' in that I placed a cigarette down the barrel. Had to clean the damn thing anyway...

King said 558 days ago:

bioLarzen...re pursang. Yes, I know that pursang has a reputation for being so competitive, although he rarely appears to win. I guess he looks on the bright side of life.

pursang said 558 days ago:

King, that one never pushes any buttons for me. We'll talk when we meet face to face...

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

No, I haven't lived in Moscow :(

As for cigarettes in the barrel... I was amazed to learn when I was a child that cigarettes and a certain caliber bullets are the same diameter so the machinery that produces cigarettes can be easily adjusted to produce bullets in wartime...

And that also applies to tinned food/canon ammo...

Although, if you come to think of it, cigarettes and bullets have much in common - like they both kill you, right?

pursang said 558 days ago:

Nah! Vernon and I are still alive! King can't stand smokers, so he won't talk to us. And you must be correct about the caliber of bullets and cigs. I put one of mine down there and it fit too tight so the smoke stopped. Had to get some of those thin cigs to make it work. Irina had some luckily. Now King won't talk to her either... He'd look maybe...

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Hehe... I was just talkibng to a friend on the phone and I was explaining to him what I was doing in the meantime, I mean WS and also mentioned the current theme Windows and doors and he goes "Whaaaat???? "DILDOS IN WARS"????"

I'm considering making it a theme suggestion :DDD

pursang said 558 days ago:

You must have been talking to Vernon! GTG, as a project calls as well as dinner. By the comments on this thread, you'd never know it is a photography blog!

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Well, I'm a passionate non-smoker, but, lucky Irina (and you...), that only affects my actions (I don't smoke) not my views on other people's actions - so I'll go on talking to you :)

Hope that doesn't make King stop talking to me though :)

bioLarzen said 558 days ago:

Gotta go also, it's 3am here :(

Bye all.

Lange said 558 days ago:

Nice composition. The multiple levels of focus are a little bit overwhelming, but that might be a good thing.

beckn32 said 557 days ago:

Red doors are my favorites. I wish the posts weren't in the way in this though.

44 comments? What's going on here?

gorin-images said 557 days ago:

I'd recognize this image anywhere. It is a great submission for this theme.
