Very nice composition, but it would have had more impact if the snake was more in focus as it is more about it, and the handler was a little softer. Also a little bit of cropping on the left side to get some of the bystanders out would add a little more to the photo too.

This photo comes really close to being fantastic. The background is more in focus than the foreground, which is very distracting. If the snake, or the snake and the man, were in focus it would have much better impact. It might have been further improved if it had been shot from a little higher so you get more of the snake's head, but the focus was the major detractor.

Thanks for the above constructive comments guys.
I know this is not a perfect image, it was taken almost completely in reaction, while stumbling backwards (not a fan of snakes being thrust into my face).
Points well taken. And yes, totally unfortunate that the snake head is not in focus...

This doesn't say wild to me.

I think maybe if the snake was in focus it would have a more of a "wild" impact.... but then again... ya have to have a pretty wild personality to hold a snake.. I know Ive have held many :)

This one almost works. A bit different angle for the snake and focus on it with the handler in the background.

I think this has a lot of potential, but for me the focus really needed to be on the snakes head. It took a reasonable amount of studying to work out what he was holding, and I think that change would give it more impact :)
