kadenjack - Not quite. This was shot at a protest march in the main shopping mall in Brisbane. For me, the 'what's the story' aspect is due to the not knowing who to look at - 'why are all these people gathered?', 'what's with the guy in the suit?', 'why does that girl in the front seem to be in her own little world?'
As for the point and shoot comment - you're right. Due to the nature of the scene, that's how it had to be shot. That said, I did frame this and hold it until just the right time when that girl was looking at me.

Scary hippy. I would suppose this is in 'Frisco. I didn't know there were any evil hippies in SF, I could have sworn they upheld the peace and love mantra bit as a lifestyle. Somebody done this girl wrong...gulp...

The eye contact with the woman in the foreground is essential, I think. Otherwise, there is no focus in this whimsical image. Here are a bunch of young people having innocent fun, and that's a good thing, I think. Those hands entering the frame from the upper right corner are kind of strange.

a lot of people, different people, what are they doing?
Relevant, but composition wise this could have been improved imho (top right hand, cutoff hat...)

From my theater experience, this would appear to be a shot from backstage of something. It's got kind of a point and shoot aspect to it. I'm wondering more who I should be looking at than what's the story.
