I assumed this was grass from the thumbnail!
I am not sure what to make of this. It looks so fake that I assume it was manipulated, but at the same time, the manipulation was done so well that I question it... maybe this green water is real? I'm dying to know.
A little nitpick - I wish you hadn't cut off the bottoms of their feet!

Is there some sort of weird hue shift going on here, or is this from when they died the river green for St. Pat's day?
I think the photo lacks impact without accompanying caption or details.

Happy St Patrick's Day

Wow! In the thumbnail I thought they were standing infront of a green wall. Nice colors. It is very surreal.

The facial expression and gesture of that man on the right is awesome!

Interesting. That cannot possibly be the real color.?.? It reminds me of "Ghost Busters" green slime.

I too wish their feet weren't chopped off, but it's the only shot of this scene that wasn't blurry.
And yes, the water really was green that day... Chicago held its St. Patrick's Day celebrations a week early for some reason. For this shot I increased the contrast and saturation just a *tiny* bit. A true-color shot of the river: http://flickr.com/photos/hansh/111178984/
I've been pondering over a caption: how about "Illegal Dumping"? :)

That truly is a scary color for the river. Must have used a lot of food dye to accomplish it. Pretty cool.

I've seen this shot before (or a shot from this series), and placed out of context it is very intriguing... Green water? I know the answer... St. Patrick's day.

Very vibrant colours! Sure would not want to swim in that!
