Interesting how no one else in the room seems to see her, as if she's not even there. Nice shot, I like the feel of it.

Ana said 507 days ago:

The more I look at this, the more I really love about it. Outside this theme, there's so much going on... I'd love to hear more about the scene and what was going on here.

nattfodd said 507 days ago:

Not very relevant in my opinion, though well composed.

Dave_Mac said 507 days ago:

A strong photo technically, but weak in relevance.

Wint3r said 507 days ago:

I really like a lot of things about this shot. Very high scores from me!

zorilla said 507 days ago:

Excellent

bioLarzen said 507 days ago:

I like the cozy home-feeling of this one... And the perspective is indeed unusual, so relevance spot on.

bioLarzen said 507 days ago:

Interesting how some of us see this as a (highly) relevant one, and others as not really so...

Redchilli said 507 days ago:

wow, very beautiful girl! :)

pursang said 507 days ago:

Although this is an usual perspective, the image is too busy to have impact.

Tanja said 507 days ago:

is the grampa peeking? ;) while the rest is watching tv..ha

Mini-Amateur said 507 days ago:

Funny picture. Like the B&W.

ArneG said 507 days ago:

There are many things here that are unusual

eggplant said 506 days ago:

I find this kind of image really compelling. I love thinking about the story behind it. The pov is great, and the b&w treatment is right on.

Lemmingstone said 506 days ago:

This whole scene seems perfect for this theme. Unusual perspective from the camera angle and I love how everyone else seems to be watching the TV. Pretty cool.

Lemmingstone said 506 days ago:

After reading other peoples comments I think that it shows why weeklyshot can be so frustrating and enjoyable at the same time. Views on this image seem to be divided. Interesting how the things I like about it are the very same things that others don't. But that's life I guess. :)

King said 506 days ago:

Just wanted to say that I *love* this photo. I see that it is an early entry and isn't featured yet, so my hunch is that the angle is not quite extreme enough for most of your raters.

I don't have this theme figured out yet and haven't posted an image. The featured images seem to be mainly about extremes of up, down, left and right while presenting very good images. I think there is a lot more to "perspective" than that.

However, I'm giving you high marks for what I think is a very good image, although one good nitpick about this and that.

What's the story here?

nantel said 506 days ago:

Sorry for not responding earlier (busy day). The dancer is my youngest daughter who has taken up baladi dancing last Fall. The stot was taken at my in-laws house while she was demonstrating her routine for the first time. The reason for the unusual perspective (as far as that type of picture is concerned, is that I was lying sideways on the floor and trying to keep the camera as low as possible as she was turning and twisting around.

photoaddiction said 506 days ago:

interesting

beckn32 said 506 days ago:

I love the feel of movement from the dancer but, the perspective is not so unusual to me and the room is a little distracting.

nantel said 506 days ago:

If yo think that the room is distracting, you should have seen it in color ;-)

Wint3r said 506 days ago:

Thanks for filling in the story, I think this one definitely deserves the front page

mtmartini said 505 days ago:

Well that is an interesting image, no one really seems to be watching her dance, strange.

inophoto said 502 days ago:

I like it. I wonder why the family seem more interested in the tube? Not sure that the perspective is all that unusual..

King said 502 days ago:

Andre,

Does your daughter also study ballet? She looks as though she could be a ballet dancer.

eggplant said 501 days ago:

Well, I've come back again, and I must say, this - in my opinion - is the finest shot of this whole set. Sorry this hasn't made the list, because this is truly fantastic.

Lemmingstone said 499 days ago:

Shame this didn't make it. I agree with eggplant about it being my fav from the week. So much going on here. I tried my best Andre.
