I'm not sure if anyone else has posted an image like this, in which case you get the points for originality. The image itself is also well composed and has good tones. Good job.

It would have been cooler with a Kool

Well lit. Strong contrast and detail, but Im dont see the beauty

you captured some great tones in this photo!

I see the ugly. Haven't found the beauty. Theme aside, I think you could have improved this image by panning left so your subject is near the right with the spilled tobacco flowing to the left (and not being cut off). You also could have rotated the camera a bit, too, to create a less formal, diagonal line.

wonderful detail and textures

stolenlife and mitchh: "Well lit. Strong contrast and detail", ,"wonderful detail and textures" or "you captured some great tones in this photo" represents a "beautiful photo(s) of undeniably ugly things."

... yes, terribly hard to see the beauty...

The discussion of beauty in this image is an interesting one. The cigarette is the trigger point for which way a person swings: ugly or beautiful. Without the cigarette it's a very pleasant image of the ground, with interesting detail, pleasing colors and sweet light. The curled leaf holds my attention. Now plop into this scene a discarded butt and the whole thing takes on a different slant...but is the image no longer as beautiful? For some reason I still see it.

I really do enjoy the comments my cigarette butt photos evoke, as witnessed by the comments here and on my blog. I started this project for almost the same reason as the explanation of this theme. Day in and day out I'm shooting images of fairly nice quality products for advertising and catalogues, this was a project to try and create interesting and beautiful photographs from the everyday discarded items we pass by and take no notice of. I have to admit the cigarette butts do create varied responses from viewers, more so then any other discarded item I've photographed. Oh and I also owe a thank you to Penn who did similar but different images of butts back in the fifties and sixties and made them into humongous platinum(palladium?) prints.
