@seekingfocus...This was actually taken in a pine forest around 4pm back in March of 2006 with my Olympus E300; when I first started to shoot digital. The light was dappling the tops of the trees from a lowish angle so it touched the tops of the taller trees and not the shorter ones. It was kind of different, and interesting. I converted it to black and white which intensified the effect a bit. I also did a little dodging and burning to intensify the effect some more. But it was quite an interesting sight.

This pine forest was very dense when I was a kid and has since thinned as it has choked itself out over the years. When I was a kid, when you would look up you could hardly see the sky, now it is much more sparse, and deciduous trees are starting to take over a lot of the pine forest. I am sorry it isn't like it used to be, but it's still a beautiful, peaceful spot.
