Awesome! There is a real tension here...that water is like glass, so solid and still, ready to be broken. Perfect for the theme!

Excellent. And remarkable. In my book, a really perfect image on many levels.

Very nice! I really like the smoothness of the water, in anticipation of the splash.

Perfect instant - I would prefer the black to be deeper - more contrast against the water - otherwise I love it.

This has to be featured.Absolutely stunning.

Very appropriate for the theme and overall a very impressive photo.

WoW! Too many good points :D Perfect. I really enjoy the smooth water before impact, contrast, framing ...

I absolutely LOVE this image. It is excellent in so many respects. I also think it is highly relevant to this theme...whatever that means. And I'm also glad it got featured, because it calls everyone's attention to what is a GREAT shot.
However, I would argue that this is not an example of "that instant in time when serendipity brings extraordinary images together in front of a lens". This shot looks like it was planned out to the Nth degree, and then perfectly executed with a stunning result. Just thought I would mention that.

To clarify, the definition of "Serendipity" is:
"The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident"
IMHO this does not look like it occured by "accident".

I'm glad I don't have to rate this one as I would find the relevancy difficult. This is a great image, although a little flat (contrast)to me.
The composition and tension is great but I agree with Gorin, it looks planned rather than it being (my interpretation of the theme)a convergence of many paths meeting at that time and place to create an image unique to only then and there.

I cannot say enough about this shot. It's perfection on every level. Your timing with this couldn't be better, either you took a million shots, or it was definitely serendipity. Either way, great job!

This has the feel of a "once in a lifetime" shot. As zorilla stated, it has a timeless quality to it. An outstanding submission.

Thanks. I did kind of plan this, but only had one chance. After the first dive the entire area would be rippled and finished.
And btw, this was the first decent shot I ever took.

I like the inherent tension in this shot. It's a snapshot of the calm right before the smoothness of the water is disrupted.

Very decisive and also timeless.
In the best possible way, this could have been taken at any moment from the 1930's onwards.
