I LOVE THIS PICTURE. Great Job! I feel the weight of the responisblity a solider must feel.

Terrific lighting. Great sense of self - assuming you are a military person (assuming that's some sort of gun/cannon)! Love the colors, the crispness, everything.

Thank you, I am quite pleased you like it.

No, I am not a military person, but I am a Berliner. Whenever I am near the Soviet Memorial (and others like it) I become acutely aware of the sacrifices made by others during the second world war. I am grateful to them, because my life and that of my parents was shaped by every aspect of that war.

The little that is revealed of the photographer/subject is very confused/confusing

Lots of feeling here. I don't recognize the artillery, but it looks too old for you to have fought with it. So I get the feeling you are mourning someone lost to you, or feeling a sense of loss in general.

I would like to see a bit more of your face, though.

Very well done.

what a pose!

Flatline said 718 days ago:

LOL.

Yeah, and as you can imagine, I tried about 40 different ones as well. Not all of them quite as pensive as this one :-)

I do feel strongly though whenever I pass this place.

Flatline, is there something stuck in the canon's tire?
