Pretty! And definetly showing a lot of selective focus!

Now that's selective! Curious what kind of camera and/or lens you used.

One of the most striking DOF I've seen on any blog. The subject matter is so simple, so everyday, yet the image DOF, compostion and lighting make it a work of art. The colors add to the striking nature of the image. I want to take a lick of that popsicle! As a matter of fact, I'm getting in my car to get one right now. If this does not get Featured, then WS rating system is in severe need of a retooling.

Hey Thanks y'all!

To answer lbimaging's question, I shot this with my Nikon D2X using the 70-200mm f/2.8G VR Zoom-Nikkor at 175mm and f/2.8. Also, the tip of the popsicle is about 5 feet from the front of the lens and that blue wall in the background is maybe 25 to 30 feet from the lens. The relatively long focal length and position of the in-focus subject so much closer to the camera than the background really allows you to blow the background out. Plus, the particular lens I used is well known for its awesome bokeh characteristics ;)

BTW what you see here was all done in-camera. No post processing other than some minor brightness/contrast adjustments and some very subtle sharpening to bring out the detail on the tip of the popsicle.

Hope that info's useful!
