What a beautiful knife!
Montage said 580 days ago:
Ouch! Although my bet is that it's actually between the legs or something.
King said 580 days ago:
Another anti-metaphor, lol. And well done, too. High marks.
ChriZ said 580 days ago:
Okay guys, thanks for the comments so far!
This thing really hurt to clear some questions! It's a sword philippe, allthoughg a knife would have been a better idea ;)

doesn't it say "Add a Comment" above that box I'm typing in right now?

That is not a pretty ass. That is a PITA though.
Ana said 580 days ago:
honestly, despite its "relevance" this is really horrid.
It's WAY beyond my comfort level and I'd request it removed if there were a process for that.
King said 580 days ago:
Ana,
One of the problems with this theme, it seems to me, is that "Pain in the Ass" is a metaphor in english when used in a sentence such as "Waiting in line at the post office is such a pain in the ass."
Many photographers are interpreting the theme literally. I think that folks whose first language is not English, some who don't get that "Pain in the Ass" is a metaphor and some folks who can't *see* in metaphorically are simply creating and/or posting images that relate specifically to real pain in real buttocks.
There's nothing wrong with that, IMHO, but this theme suffers unusually from this conflict. Look at the low number of participants, which makes it less fun for some folks who are participating and which is not good for W.S. in general.
Ana said 580 days ago:
Regardless of the interpretation (literal or metaphorical), this photograph is offensive to me.
mooch said 580 days ago:
Hmm, this wasn't obvious enough when I rated it. I think that perhaps the crop is a tad too severe. Shame really.
King said 580 days ago:
Ana,
Would it change your opinion if you knew that the the body parts in view are knees? or is it the suggestion of Sword Inserted in Anus that you find so offensive? Just curious, really.
Would you want #56 removed while you're at it? Just curious, really.
I'm not for having any images censored or removed from W.S. (at least not yet), but I can say that few of the images in this theme have helped me feel good about photography.

Ana, depending on how you see it, I guess it can be offensive. Let's not forget Frederico Garcia Lorca was shot in the ass because he was homosexual. I choose to see it on the funny side. And, as I already mentionned on Vernon's shot (removed), if you want something really onfensive, have a look at #51...

ok who had fun with this one?...high score on relevance..but please don't moon us again...my sisters used to all the time awhile back...but they weren't that hairy!
Tanja said 580 days ago:
ok chris..i knew this one was yours ;)..it's the only one i rated tonight..hahaha and yes i'm sure these are knees..lol:)
@Ana, chill out! as a photographer (you) forget the body parts..look at the picture...i see some great lighting, cool sword...not centered which fits nicely...ha fits into the butt, ok sry, anyhow it's a real PITA what did you expect!
and again to all..--> if you don't like the picture, pass and go to the next one!

Could you please give me your e-mail address so I can have all my images approoved before I post them up to this site?
btw. why did you only give me high marks on relevance? It seems this photograph has great impact on you!
and what does composition, technique and image quality have to do with your feelings?

I, we, got it, and I don't care! Go find attention somewhere else! I'm always glad to get constructive criticism thogh!
Thanks to all the others for your comments!
@King, I do know the metaphor, I was raised bilingual!
But I just had to do this! And it was fun doing it! Turned out exactly the way I had it in mind!
To clarify some things on the technique, this serioiusly is a behind, both - sword and butt - were taken separately and then merged in photoshop!

Anyways, it's a beautiful SWORD! :O)))
Mine looks like a cheap prop comparing to this. If I juge by the work on the handle, it must be worth a small fortune (unless it's a copy).
And like the wise man says:
"The pen is mightier than the sword."
;O)

Excellent
King said 579 days ago:
Whoa, ChriZ...congratulations!
ChriZ said 579 days ago:
King, thanks a lot!
I'm quite happy it made it =)
@philippe, I bought the sword about 10 years ago in spain, it was a fortune for me since I used up all my pocket money for it!
The guy in the store told me the handle is made of ivory, I'm not too sure about that though, but I won't try prooving anything else!
mooch said 579 days ago:
Um, if you burn it, (only slightly obviously) it should smell of burnt hair. I believe.
ChriZ said 579 days ago:
mooch I don't get ya!?
