I like the colours, and it works well for the theme. Personally i would have peffered less DOF and more of a focus on the tree with the leaves because than you would just get these slightly out of focus lines in the background but you would still understand what they were. Or even the other way around, a tighter focus on the dead tree. But it all depends on what your lens can do

This was actually one of my first forrays with my digital camera back in the fall shortly after I got it. I thought the juxtaposition of the tree without leaves to the one with as well as the size was kind of neat. I was still learning and re-learning all the things that I had forgotten over the years bout film photography in addition to learning how to use the digital camera. I hadn't touched an SLR since around 1981, a very long time ago.

Well we definitely have "opposites" here! This one nails the theme IMHO but is a little too busy of a photo for my tastes. But that is just one guy's opinion.
