"Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!"
Roger said 569 days ago:
In case you're wondering, that's the catchphrase of a character in a British/Irish TV show who looks very much like this: Father Jack Hackett.
pursang said 569 days ago:
Whew, I was wondering what the hell that meant. Not sure what the British slang word 'Feck' means...

F*ck me it's a character from the lord of the rings. I love this shot, the detail, the expression!
mooch said 569 days ago:
Actually, he does ring a bell. Not my favourite film but isn't he very similar to a Star Wars character? Obi Wan is it? Definitely similar.

Very Curmudgeonly.

All five points rated with Excellent. I like the expressions on his face

High marks! I think its not the age of the man, that he looks old. Bad expiriences in the live, forms hes skin and expression. Gladly I want drink a coffee with him and listening to his live story. That face tells more as many other pics I saw by WS.

Gnarly and wise. A different DOF may have put him more in the real world.

Everything about this image is wonderful. The black on black and his gritty snear so beautifully captured.

Well, you're back, it seems. I didn't even see this one posted before I went to bed last night. I agree with most of the comments on this exceptional face you've captured.
Do you think you may have overdone the dodging in the eyes? or is it that my monitor hasn't warmed up?
Congratulations, Mark.

This is really impressive!
You managed to capture many things in just one image.
pursang said 568 days ago:
Thank you. This man was on Market Street in San Francisco and I didn't notice him, but felt his STARE. He was apparently watching me capture some other folks as I was out and about. I could feel someone looking at me so I turned and there he was with that look. So we maintained eye contact, I raised my camera and took the shot. King, I have not done any dodging to his face. I'm only back for a bit, as I have some new projects that have been keeping me busy, but the images here at WS are truly inspiring so it's nice to have some time to be back among my pals.

pursang, I just *have* to get a good DSLR. Sorry to misterpret the lightness of the guy's eyes rather than their being very light to start with, plus the ability of the digital sensor to pick up shadow detail.
pursang said 568 days ago:
No problem. His eyes are a natural pale blue.
