This is saying gnarled to me more than old, but I guess you very rarely see the word gnarled without the world old coming straight after it ;)

The title says Old, I believe it - I wondered if the ring was as old as the hand. The background is a touch distracting, but that's how it goes sometimes, maybe some photoshop wizardry would take care of the background?
