This interesting building surely has some great stories to tell. Where is this? What is/was this? High marks.

pretorious said 447 days ago:

Located near Gauley Bridge WV. I wanted to get more shots of the place but quickly found out someone was actually living there and wasn't fond of the idea of photography.

The tone is fantastic on this rickety old house. I like this a lot. The butan tank reminds me of my grandma's house when I was young. We'd play all over that thing.

The building itself is interesting. I'm not a fan of the sepia toning done here at all, and I also think the composition could have been more carefully considered as there is far to much grass leading into the photo.

Excellent. Might have been differently cropped - a little too much forground (grass) now.

Thank you all once again!

Hummingbird said 446 days ago:

@pretorious, is Gauley Bridge, WV near the Gauley River of white water rafting fame?

pretorious said 446 days ago:

Yes Hummingbird, sure is. In fact the Gauley River runs right past this old structure in my image but because of the many trees and woodlands we have it isn't visible from this structure.
Most all the white water rafting starts many miles up the river from this area and continues on this way.
