VernonTrent said 500 days ago:

excellent!

zorilla said 500 days ago:

This looks like a portrait of Astor Piazzolla which is no bad thing

Montage said 500 days ago:

Lovely shot. I really like the lighting.

uvikidd said 500 days ago:

Gud lighting ;)

Redchilli said 500 days ago:

nice shot!

Ana said 500 days ago:

This is so very relevant and wonderfully done.
Aces.

mtmartini said 500 days ago:

Hmmm... I wonder who this could be? :)

King said 500 days ago:

Squeeze Box!

(Yeah, Mark, I know, it's a Bandoneón)

Well done, given the circumstances. Well done, anyway. is this the guy you caught with his pants down? Notice that his suit jacket is getting threadbare.

pursang said 500 days ago:

King, no this is not that guy but Victor the head bandeleon player and orchestra conductor. Tracy will have the pleasure of meeting Victor this summer when we travel to Argentina. She's graciously accepted to go there to shoot Forever Tango with me.

Yes, Victor's jacket is coming apart, but it's my understanding that he's very superstitious about wearing any new jacket.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Lighting, details on the bandeoneon and mouvement of the player, that's a really great shot and i love it.

Flatline said 495 days ago:

So this is not Astor Piazolla?

pursang said 495 days ago:

The bandoneon player is Victor Lavallen, who is also the orchestra conductor for Luis Bravo's Forever Tango! stage performance. philimages, thank you for your kind comments. This particular image was captured during their final San Francisco performance at Post Street Theatre in January of this year.

We will have the pleasure of photographing more of Victor and the rest of the cast and crew later this summer in Argentina.

King said 495 days ago:

We will?!!!!
Who is paying our expenses? Can we fly first class?

pursang said 495 days ago:

King, I'm paying the expenses. You are not invited simply because you write too many comments on your own images.

King said 495 days ago:

You said, "We." I'm hurt.

Why do you say "Argentina" when you mean "Buenos Aires"? They are not the same thing.

If I'm on my way to Rio de Janeiro, it's not the same thing as being on my way to Brazil.

Want some more examples? Oh, I forgot, all of your images are automatically featured, so they don't need extra comments to attract the attention of raters.

pursang said 495 days ago:

Quit whining! Quit correcting! You remind me of my old girlfriend Robin who would rather be right than happy! I kicked her to the curb. Just shut up and hop on a plane to the 'Bay Area' so that I can buy you breakfast. You get so damn crabby when you haven't eaten.

King said 495 days ago:

I'm happy when I'm right...but that's so rare.

Breakfast sounds good.

I'd invite you to fly to Dallas for breakfast at my place, but that would be ridiculous. Why would anyone from the Bay Area want to visit Dallas?

mysight said 495 days ago:

Y'all are hilarious. Thanks for the entertainment!!

pursang said 495 days ago:

Been to Dallas. They don't like 'my kind' in that state...

King said 495 days ago:

Dallas is a city.
Texas is a state.

They don't like my kind either--too west coast.

Hummingbird said 495 days ago:

Mark and King I have a solution for both of you come to Florida. We like or dislike everyone equally here :)

pursang said 495 days ago:

I have never been to Florida Anna. I hear it's a nice state. King, too West Coast? Does the include Hawaii?

King said 495 days ago:

...meaning that I am a Californian, through and through.

pursang said 495 days ago:

Ok, I now understand. You're very pale for a Californian....

King said 495 days ago:

I wasn't into tanning, and now I'm 62 and skin-cancer free.
