Elementary errors, in post-processing undermine what is essentially a superb image. I'd love to see an improved version of this I'd give it high marks.

Good idea, and definitely relevant, but the quality seems a little off to me. Is it a scan of an old print?

If I had to guess, I'd say you oversaturated it a little, or otherwise you've been playing with the Curves in PS. There's no problem in darkening this a little, I think it would accentuate the tunnel effect, and draw you down to the PoF which, I assume, you want to be the en of the pier. You could try starting with the original, and cropping it tighter from both sides, see how that goes to start. But HEY! This is your image, I don't go into details usually, essentially because I'm a bit RAW myself. If you want some top advice try asking, George, Vernon, King, Blizzard, dcreighton or one of those guys, they really know what they are talking about!

I'm trying to decide if b/w could have saved this shot, but it is so over blown, and the lighting is so bright, it has really bleached the entire shot. I love the shadows on the sand.
