Nice juxtaposition of the christ pole and the tree. I wonder if it would be even better if we couldn't see the tree trunk at all?

This doesn't work for me as well as I'd like it to. What if you would have stepped to the side, and had the column parallel to the tree? As it is I can see the try, so there's not really an illusion for me, just Jesus in front of a palm tree.

Had you succeeded in hiding the trunk of the palm this would have worked even better! It's still a jolly good idea!
