cute smile.... wish it were sharper..and what is that black shadow there? on her wrist? in fact, there are distracting lights and shadows all over her face... but it is a cute shot.

Yeah, I figured I might get grief for the softness. It's something I like a lot, and have been working with creatively. This is "natural" in the sense that it is the result of a lens called a Noctilux - a 50mm lens open to f/1. The lens has a really painterly quality about it. I love it, and I love this photo, but I know a lot of people like images on the sharper side.
The black thing on her wrist is the top of a wine bottle, btw.

I like her smile and gesture, very elegant!
but it's a shame about the processing - I see like red in her face and black on her arm (did you use curves?)
but I do like the compo and the pose!

I see the bottle top now that you say it...
and this wasn't shot through a window?
That's the lens that does that?

I love the expression and the pose. I would like it better if she were a little sharper in focus, but overall very nice.

I don't see there is a single reason for it being out of focus. Sharp, it would have been a really nice shot, but like this it's awful. Sorry.

OK, fair enough, but shouldn't "something" be sharp, however small? I can appreciate softness but this just looks unfocused as opposed to deliberately soft.

Love her demeanor!

i like her expression but this image is just too soft. a shaper focus on the face would make this pop a lot more.
