Thats some brutal b&w. I like the high contrast, but I wish there was a little more detail in the feather

This is very pretty, and the composition is perfect. I find the white to be too white, and the black to hide too much detail, but I guess that makes it extreme? Well done.

This was interesting to photograph, the sand is black and it was around noon therefor the high contrast. It has not been sharpened in any way, this is how it came out of the box with a slight s curve and b/w gradient map added. Moreover, the extreme contrast is both in the technical aspects of the image and in the subject matter.

extreme contrast between hard sand and soft feather. in terms of colour contrast, i dont think the whole feather stands out well enough against the sand, which is equally made up of white and black bits.

the dof is also a bit too shallow, or you could have cropped some of the top off i think

I'll bet this will feature. It's very edgy and full of contrast without being out of control. I also like the composition.

Ooh! I do like this. The extremes for me are in the very effective lighting, and the almost Kodalith film quality of the image. I think the crispness of the detail in the background is such high contrast that it almost looks unreal. Very, very beautiful image.
