The lighting is a bit harsh (blown out columns and dark rails); composition could perhaps be improved by a sideways tilt, and the flag is somewhat out of place. Good shot, but could have been very good.

I thought about removing the flag, but thought it added some tension to the shot. I think I've acomplished that, but I don't think it was worth it. I think you're right, if we're going for curves it would have been smoother without that sticking point.

I will disagree with you on the over/under-exposure - there's nothing totally light or dark on my monitor.

This is a great take on the theme. I think cropping out the flag in the lower right corner would make it even stronger.
