Nice grainy portrayal. I wish there where more of them here. Great approach and excellent mood. Almost straight 5s

hey wim
thanks for the comment. i think the reason more people dont post grainy shots is because, most people on WS confuse a grainy shot with bad quality. which is really sad. with digital imagery getting sharper and sharper, graininess is getting a bad rap! especially here at WS. my overall quality average is a 2.62, so that tells you alot of what people think about grainy. ill probaly be dumb enough to keep posting these grainy shots though, cause I love'em!
fyi. this was shot with 1600 high speed film, hence the high grain. all i did in photoshop was played with curves a bit and burnt in the corners more.

I understand perfectly and admire you for being dumb enough to keep posting them. :-)

the graininess really works well with this, makes it much more dramatic.

Dimitri,
Keep up the good work and please persist in education folks about the difference between grain and digital noise. You would have received high marks on this from me.

This image has a gloomy and intentionally artsy feel due to the exaggerated grain. The feeling of being alone comes across but I don't think the impact of that feeling is as great as other images viewed in this theme recently.
