I think the reason this doesn't fit the theme very well for me is because she's making direct eye contact with the viewer through the camera. It might have worked better had she been looking off or down or had her eyes closed altogether.

Shot this tight and head on like this, this image isn't feeling alone to me at all. Clearly you're in the room with her, and as such you are effecting her, thus negating any sense of aloneness. This would be great for a sadness theme or a crying theme and the shot is technically great. She just isn't alone.

I really like the mood of this image. The glisten in her right eye is what conveys 'alone' for me. Her hand position adds to that feeling. I like the darkness of the image, but the right half is 'too' dark for my tastes, even with the mood of the image. It makes the hands more prominent than they 'should' be. So my ratings are Rel 5, Impact 5, Composition 4, Tech 4, Image Qual 3
Nicely done.

This face looks familiar...is this a self-portrait? The glistening eyes and the hands lead my imagination into the story this young lady has to tell. The low-key tonality on the right lend an intimacy to the scene.
Only the smallest criticism--I would have avoided cropping her eyebrow tangent with the edge of the frame, if possible. It's a little thing, but carries a lot of weight, compositionally, in my opinion. Otherwise, this is a very well-composed image.

She looks very lonely and sad. This picture definitely fits the theme. Great work.
